I. General Description

ZCT-CX100-S01 tilt sensor is a high-precision sensor developed by Zhichuan Technology. The sensor has a maximum measuring range of ± 15 degrees, supporting MODBUS RTU protocol, suitable for construction and civil engineering safety monitoring system.

II. Applications

Foundation pit, slope, embankment safety monitoring and so on.

 

III. Communication Protocol

The communication protocol is compatible with modbus RTU protocol, with baud rate of 9600bps, no parity bit, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit.

IV. Sensor Command and Functions

1)   Read X axis angle data command:

i.e,:

send command: 01  03  00  00  00  02  C4  0B

return data : 01  03  04  00  0C  62  05  CRC low  CRC high

return angle is 12.985°

(angle value = [ (-1)^0]*[(0* 100) + (0 * 16 + 12) + (6 * 16+2) / 100+ (0 * 16+5) / 1000]), 01 means the sensor ‘s address.

2)   Read Y axis angle data command:

i.e,

send command: 01  03  00  02  00  02  65  CB

return data : 01  03  04  10  0C  62  05  CRC low  CRC high

return angle is -12.985°

( angle value = [ (-1)^0]*[(0* 100) + (0 * 16 + 12) + (6 * 16+2) / 100+ (0 * 16+5) / 1000]), 01 means the sensor ‘s address.

Use function code 03 to read more than two register value, if the register not read available, 0×00 is corresponding returned.

i.e,

Read X and Y axis angle command at the same time

Send command : 01  03  00  00  00  04  44  09

Return data: 01  03  08  00  0C  62  05  10  0C  62  05  CRC low  CRC high

Return angle is : X axis 12.985°,Y axis -12.985°, command interpretation is the same as X and Y axis separate read commands.

3)   Set sensor address command:

i.e,

send command: 01  06  00  07  05  05  CRC low  CRC high

return data: 01  06  00  07  05  05  CRC low  CRC high

sensor address is set as 0×05 by the command, and it is effective after restart.

Attentions:

1. the address is effective after restart and successfully respond. 

2.  the address setting range is 01H ~ FFH, and the sensor address can not be set as broadcast address (00H).

4)   Read sensor address :

i.e,

send command:00  42  00  07  00  01  CRC low  CRC high

return data: 01  42  02  01  01  CRC low  CRC high

the command will return to sensor address 0×01.

5)   Set sensor baud rate:

i.e,

send command:01  06  00  08  A1  A1  CRC low  CRC high

return data: 01  06  00  08  A1  A1  CRC low  CRC high

sensor baud rate is set as 4800bps by this command, and it is effective after restart.

Attention :

1. after successfully response and restart, the address is effective.

2. support baud rate: A0-2400,A1-4800,A2-9600, A3-19200.

6)   Read sensor temp command:

Send command: 01  03  00  0C  00  02  CRC low  CRC high

Return data: 01  03  04  10  10  00  00  CRC low  CRC high

Return temp is -16℃

(Temp=[ (-1)^ 1]*[(0* 100) + (1 * 16 +0) ])sensor temp – register low position 2 bytes is fixed as 0×00, 01is sensor’s address.

  1. II.                 Installation attentions:

When installing the sensor, improper methods will cause large measurements angle error. Please pay attention as follow:

1.lock tightly the two tightening screws which connected sensor and connection rod. The connection rod is standard 4-points stainless steel tubing(wall thickness 1.8mm)

2.Tightly lock two sensor-connected cable connectors.

3.Tighten screws at ground side locked C type support.

4.Fix well the double insurance wire ropes.

    Remark 1: resolution is the smallest angle that can be detected by the inclinometer sensor.

    Remark 2: accuracy is the differences between the real angle value and the measured value in total range.

    Remark 3:  at room environment, with fixed zero angle output, zero temp drift is the angle deviation with changes of temp.
